I am an ESRC-funded PhD student in the Education and Social Research Institute (ESRI) at Manchester Metropolitan University. My research is situated with ESRI's Biosocial Research Laboratory. As a former primary school teacher, and electroacoustic composer, my current research interests include sonic research-creation, early childhood, neuro-diversity, affect, and Biosocial inquiry. In addition to practitioner research projects, I have led sound and strata walks. I am a collaborator with the international walking research-creation project WalkingLab.

I am also a composer and sound designer, writing music for theatre and film, and electroacoustic concert works. My work for film includes Filmworker (2018), Finding Happiness (2013) and My Big Break (2010). My work for theatre includes The Liverpool Shakespeare Festival (2006-2013), and collaborations with other national theatre companies (e.g. LodestarSell a Door, and Said&Done). I am also one-half of chip-tune glitch-folk band Oblique Curiosities. I have independently released a collection of my work: Bats, Dogs, Hogs and Rats (2014).

Before beginning my PhD, I taught in primary schools in North London, eventually becoming Assistant Head Teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
